Start With The Basics
In a society where electronics, television and cell phones have begun to dominate our existence it has become doubly important to ensure that we are still getting our kids outside. My guess is that many of you were once avid campers prior to having children but somehow after the arrival of the wee ones the thought of sleeping (or not sleeping) in a tent in the great outdoors seemed less than appealing. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of camping with small children is actually getting up the courage to go! It is a daunting endeavor to say the least.
I am here to tell you: It can be done! (and without much difficulty I might add)
My husband and I first took our oldest son camping when he was five months old. Since then every summer he has been with us on seven trips (he is now three). I cannot lie and say that every trip was smooth sailing, however, I can say that most times the camping was successful and, more importantly, fun!
In these next three posts I will be discussing the benefits of organization, proper clothing attire and finally, how to find the right tent. All three of these categories are essential in making your camping experience successful.
So…lets start with the basics:

2. A Warm (and Dry!) Camper is A Happy Camper - Gear and Clothing to Make Your Experience a Delightful One
3. Tent Living Is A Very Personal Thing - If Your Family Were a Tent What Kind of Tent Would They Be?
